About 50 Plus Fitness
50 Plus Fitness is a private exercise studio built with a clear purpose: to help adults over 50 improve their health, vitality, and mobility through purposeful physical movement. Whether you are a beginner taking your first steps or returning to exercise after time away, our studio provides a safe, welcoming environment where you train at your own pace without judgement.
Our Training Philosophy
We believe that movement must meet you where you are today, not where you wish you were. Our approach focuses on holistic movement training, integrating functional exercise patterns that support joint health, balance, and cognitive function. As we age, muscle mass, bone density, and flexibility naturally change. The traditional motto of no pain, no gain has no place here. Instead, we focus on safe, efficient technique that builds strength for everyday life and gives your body time to adapt and heal.
Exercise safely and with confidence.
Move with purpose and proper technique
Learn to enjoy movement pain-free
Build practical strength for daily living
Prioritise mobility and stability before intensity
Stay active for family, travel, and lifestyle

Meet Charlie Wong
I am Charlie Wong, personal trainer and founder of 50 Plus Fitness. I specialise in guiding adults over 50 to move better, feel stronger, and reclaim confidence in their physical health.
I started 50 Plus Fitness because I saw a clear need in our community. Traditional gyms can be intimidating spaces with loud music, mirrors, and an emphasis on appearance over genuine health. I wanted to create a quiet studio environment where mature adults feel comfortable, safe, and supported.
Becoming a personal trainer later in life gave me a valuable perspective. While many people my age focus on retirement, I saw an opportunity to start a new career helping others navigate physical changes as they age. My own decision was shaped by a disappointing experience with a younger trainer who did not understand how ageing affects joint mobility and recovery. That inspired me to become the coach I wished I had, someone who understands that every body is different and that exercise must adapt to the individual.
With seven years of coaching experience and a background in military service, I bring a practical, problem solving approach to movement. I have helped clients managing shoulder, hip, knee, and back discomfort rebuild stability and move without fear. My training incorporates diverse movement options, from studio balance work using the Rockit Board to outdoor Nordic Walking in Hagley Park and Mona Vale.
Beyond individual coaching, I value the strong community that physical activity builds. Over the years I have enjoyed martial arts, ballroom dancing, yoga, and group fitness classes. That same welcoming, supportive atmosphere is what you will experience every time you step into 50 Plus Fitness.
